Lou Lou’s offers exceptional customer service, home wares, fashion and jewellery to Bombala and beyond!!!
Penny has a dynamic little team at Lou Lou’s. You will be greeted by both Heather and Penny during the week while Nikki and Hannah take the reins over the weekend.
Behind the scenes our computer whizz Sam makes updates to the online shop, Twitter, Instagram and our very popular Facebook page.
It’s a fun little place to work with new things arriving daily!
I am Penny. It’s very difficult to write a few paragraphs about yourself but I will give it a crack!
I am a born and bred Bombalian and I love this little town so much. It’s a wonderful place to grow up and an even better one to raise children in. People are friendly and fun loving and the support I have received by the local community has been astounding!
In 2011 I was sitting down in front of the fire chatting to my husband about a little idea I had, as hairdressing just wasn’t floating my boat anymore, low and behold 6 months later this little idea became a reality as we swung open the door at 105 Maybe Street in October that same year!
Lou Lou’s has been such an amazing journey for me. I have done things I never thought I ever would – like travelling to Sydney and Melbourne a few times a year by my lonesome to source all my gorgeous stock. Lou Lou’s and our local community also hosted a very successful Facebook Auction that raised over $7,000 for the Australian Stroke Foundation. Its bloody hard work but I love it! The suppliers, my staff and above all my loyal customers make it all worth it.
I have a little chuckle as the tourists that pop in call me Lou Lou. I don’t have the heart to tell them my name is actually Penny – Penelope actually. The shop was named after my beautiful Mum Lyn who passed away tragically in 2008. She was a lover of teddy bears, trinkets and little shops just like mine. Her nick name was Lou Lou. She would have absolutely loved this shop and I know she would have spent many hours in here browsing and no doubt spending all Dad’s money!
So, that’s me in a nut shell. Big thanks go out to my husband Pete, children Harry and Chaz, sister Rachel and brother in-
I hope you love Lou Lou’s as much as I do and if you are ever heading through Bombala pop in and say hello.
This is Penny’s beautiful Aunty Heather. Any Bombala locals would recognise Heather Cootes from the Chemist.
Heather has recently retired from the Pharmacy after 49 years! Such an amazing milestone.
Her hubby Tony has retired too so they have been doing some travelling which they are really enjoying.
Heather is called in from time to time when things get hectic. She has excellent customer service skills and puts my gift wrapping to shame!
Have you met our lovely Nikki?
Nikki works most afternoons at Lou Lou’s and shares Saturdays with Hannah. She has an infectious personality and amazing customer service skills to go with it.
Nikki is in Year 11 at Bombala High School. She would like to study marine science or nutrition at University.
Nikki is a major asset to Lou Lou’s & we love having her onboard!
Pop in and say HI to Nikki!
Hanny is one of our fantastic juniors at Lou Lou’s and has been been with us from the very beginning (almost two years).
What a delight!!!
Everyone loves Han…she’s friendly, hard working, loyal and loves to have a laugh. Customer or colleague, Hannah makes life easy with her “nothing is ever a problem” attitude.
Locally grown, Hannah is currently in year 11 at Bombala High School and works at 105 Maybe Street in her spare time. Her dream is to go to uni to study and become a midwife.
Be sure to call in and say hi to Hannah!
Sam works behind the scenes at Lou Lou’s, assisting with our online presence (facebook, twitter, marketing emails, our facebook shop, this website), he also photographs our products when required.
So who is Sam?
Sam’s 17, originally from Ballarat later moving to Geelong and then to Bombala.
He joined the team at 105 Maybe Street in November 2013, he loves helping out at Lou Lou’s; although you don’t see him in the shop that often he does a lot of his work at the office.
An interesting fact about Sam is that he was the first person born in Ballarat in 1997.
